 Mara Aranda celebrates 25 years on stage and do it with a tour that began in Sofia (Bulgaria ) to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the arrival of the Sephardim to the Ottoman Empire and will continue through different strategic locations of this culture throughout 2015.

The next, June 8th , we will have opportunity to enjoy the experience gained after years of research , study and interpretation of Mara Aranda who will perform at the International Festival of Sephardic Music in Cordoba , in its fourteenth edition , consolidated as a international reference. This year also marks the 700th anniversary of the Synagogue of Cordoba and has been prepared a special program that can be summery concerts, workshops, kosher wine tasting , cinema, theater and which also will be the opening of the exhibition ‘ Instruments in Hebrew medieval tradition’ it will be presented in worldwide premiere at the festival . The exhibition curator, Jota Martinez , a specialist in medieval instruments of Spanish tradition , take a guided tour on Monday, June 8 , at 21:00.

At 22:00 will start Mara Aranda’s concert, accompanied by Abel Garcia, specializes in stringed instruments Eastern Mediterranean and hurdy-gurdy and Fernando Depiaggi, percussions and ney, besides them Jota Martinez, director of the ensemble. In the course of it, they will come to the public music and songs through which we will know how lived the Spanish Jews and reflecting all the traditions that would pass from father to son, by mouth, preserved more than 500 years after its expulsion and tell us about their inner feelings, their festivities, celebrations and rituals and historical events connected with the sound of instruments, ballads of Spanish medieval tradition, as well as North Africa and also in the Eastern Mediterranean area, following the example of Sephardic people who adapted his style music and the instruments of the geographical areas where they settled again, always evolving set is added in this attractive concert. Far away to close doors and windows to enclose the ancient heritage, the Sephardim opened wide, being the reason why today we can sing and share with all those who love history, music and traditions.
