Creo que al igual que Eleanor Roosevelt que“no basta con hablar de paz, uno debe creer en ella y trabajar por ella”.
Quizás el más grande ícono del pacifismo en el mundo, Mahatma Gandhi, pronunció frases célebres como “No hay camino para la paz, la paz es el camino” o “Si quieres cambiar al mundo, cámbiate a ti mismo.”pero también hubo otros como Luther King, uno de los principales íconos de la lucha por los derechos humanos en el mundo, que antes de ser asesinado nos legó está reflexión: “hemos aprendido a volar como los pájaros, a nadar como los peces, pero no hemos aprendido el sencillo arte de vivir como hermanos” o memorables también fueron las que pronunciara Nelson Mandela al decir “si quieres hacer la paz con tu enemigo siéntate a trabajar con él” o el político y científico norteamericano Benjamin Franklin, cuyo pensamiento ha sido analizado por generaciones y mantiene su vigencia incluso hoy en día “jamás hubo una guerra buena o una paz mala”o podríamos volver sobre las palabras de Malala Yousafzai Nobel de Paz 2014, dos años después de haber sufrido un atentado con arma de fuego por parte de insurgentes talibanes, lo cual la convirtió en un ícono mundial del movimiento pacifista. “Si se quiere acabar la guerra con otra guerra nunca se alcanzará la paz. El dinero gastado en tanques, en armas y soldados se debe gastar en libros, lápices, escuelas y profesores”…
Libros, lápices, escuelas y profesores…cultura. Me gusta pensar que es posible, que sería posible que la mayor partida presupuestaria fuese destinada a la cultura. Pero, desafortunadamente, como cada observador transporta su propio espacio y su propio tiempo y es producto de sus circunstancias, lo que unos vemos desde este modo, otros lo ven justo desde el contrario. Y así vivimos en una lucha constante de fuerzas que tiran cada una en un sentido. Y la cuerda siempre acaba rompiéndose.
No voy a luchar para conseguir la paz. Voy a seguir haciendo lo que he hecho siempre…a luchar por una patria que en los mapas del alma lleva el nombre de Belleza y por una religión llamada Amor. Lo sigo haciendo con este disco ‘Sefarad en el corazón de al-Ándalus’ que empieza a tomar forma en el vientre de mi corazón.

Nelson Mandela says, memorable as well: ” if you want to make peace with your enemy you have to deal with him “. Benjamin Franklin, whose thoughts are analyzed since generations, teaches us: “there never was a good war or a bad peace”. Or just contemplate what Malala Yousafzai has to say, two years after surviving an attack with firearms by Taliban insurgents, for what she became a global icon of peace movement: “If you want to end the war with another war, peace never can be achieved. The money spent on tanks, weapons and soldiers should be spent on books, pencils, schools and teachers” …
Books, pencils, schools and teachers … culture. I do like to think about that it is possible, that it must be possible to invest major budgets in culture and science, not in arms. But unfortunately, as everybody lives in a world of his own, people often have contrarious convictions. For that reason we live in a permanent struggle of forces trying to succeed. And as always, the rope is about to be ripped apart.
I will not fight for peace. I will continue doing what I’ve always done … to fight for a homeland being located in our souls, full of beaty and filled with just only religion which is love. I want to contribute making the album ‘Sefarad in the heart of al-Andalus ‘ which is assuming a definite form in my heart.
